Anyone publishing a website will need a web hosting service to publish their website or websites. Some are particularly knowledgeable about Joomla websites and their requirements. Others are less knowledgeable, or don't care to invest the time to learn what they need to, in order to provide the level of service that you deserve. Also, many of the better services charge a lot less than you would expect.   
    For a law office site, some knowledgeable web hosting providers may suggest a contract for less than $10.00 a month, often with a free domain name, regular site back-up, telephone or prompt email tech support, unlimited or at least several domains and unlimited sub-domains, such as pi.washlaw.com, medmal. washlaw.com and workcomp.washlaw.com. (These are not real sites, just examples of what you can do.)
    Some web service providers are knowledgeable about Joomla website requirements, and are also known for service:

• www.host4god.com -- my personal favorite; although host4god aims at church websites, they also offer the same level of excellent service to businesses and professional sites. Personal service from a small but excellent staff. Unless you need more than 5 email addresses, the Bronze package runs $50.00 a year. The next level, the Silver package, has 10 email addresses and is only $70.00 a year.   The staff can also help with any problems on your site, at an extra charge.
  
• www.rochenhost.com -- they provide web hosting for joomla.org; joomla.org knows what they need in a web host service provider
  
• www.siteground.com -- they make Joomla setup simple and have great tutorials on their services. Free transfer of Joomla sites from other hosting providers. I've used them with no problems. They don't have phone tech support, but the service tickets get responded to very quickly, usually in a few minutes.
  
• www.dreamhost.com -- likewise, knowledgeable about Joomla and reputation for good service
• www.lunarpages.com -- likewise, knowledgeable about Joomla and reputation for good service. I've used them with no problems.
  

    Before you make arrangements for a law office website, inquire of the provider:

• Whether they have the software to host joomla websites;
• Whether they charge extra for domain name registration;
  
• Whether they have an up-time guarantee -- often 99.99% uptime;
• Whether they have Fantastico software, that makes it easier for you to install Joomla on your site;
• Whether they have Joomla software available so that you can quickly install it with Fantastico;
• Whether their tech support is by telephone, and if there is a charge per call, or a maximum-calls-per-month set; some, such as siteground.com, only respond by email, but they may still respond quickly, as siteground.com does.
  
• What their average response time is;
  
• How many domains and sub-domains they allow without extra charge; and
  
• Whether they can back up your website on a daily, or at least weekly basis
