There is a natural inclination to start building the website immediately, but the first element is a well-planned design. A typical law firm website will contain a front page that sets out the scope of the firm, including a brief summary of the staff, any areas of specialization and any features that cause the firm to excel.

Staff pages. Such sites almost always include pages for
attorney staff, and many include pages for non-attorney staff as well.
Some include major achievements, such as honors, elected offices and
notable achievements.
Areas of specialization. Law firms that specialize in one or
more areas of law will often include pages on areas of specialization,
that serve two purposes. They help inform the public, but they also
impress on the viewer that the firm in knowledgeable about that area of
practice.
Directions and Contact. Many firms will include a page with
directions, for anyone traveling to the office for the first time, as
well as a page that provides an email link for potential clients to
contact the firm.
News articles. Some firms include articles on developments
in their areas of specialization. A few even publish an online
magazine, setting the news in an attractive layout that suggests a
sophisticated firm.
