While Joomla is extremely powerful as it is distributed, developers have found ways to make it even more powerrful and easy to use with certain extensions, most of which are free and available at extensions.joomla.org . This section sets out a number of extensions and other tools. Take a look at them under the various Toolkit entries, such as JoomlaXplorer and Forms.
Get Organized
You will find two things after using Joomla for a short time: first, setting up a website is easier and more fun than you ever thought possible, and, second, your Desktop is a mess, with downloaded files. To straighten out the mess, I would suggest that you set up a folder on your Desktop and name it JOOMLATOOLS or something like that. Store all your templates and extensions there. You may also want subfolders for templates and extensions, but if you do, you are more organized than I am.
Note: If you really enjoy Joomla, you may start looking for excuses to set up more websites for yourself or for others. If so, many providers of commercial templates, extensions and also web hosting providers (such as RocketTheme and DreamHost) will waive charges for non-profit organizations.
